Talavera pottery is a type of maiolica earthenware, distinguished by its white base glaze and authentic Talavera can only come from the town of San Pablo del Monte (in Tlaxcala) and the cities of Puebla, Atlixco, Cholula and Tecali in Mexico. It is now an highly regulated artform due to a huge increase in imitations, notably from China but also other parts of Mexico. By applying the themed colours of her collection to these designs Natalia del Rivero has added a unique twist on the very traditional craft form.
