Knebworth House, Hertfordshire

With its sweeping 250 acres of deer park and the stately home's historic turrets, dome and gargoyles silhouetted against the sky, the idyllic Knewworth House offers one of the truly romantic wedding venues.  A perfect setting for you to host your wedding breakfast, civil marriage ceremony, and reception. Knebworth House's Jacobean Banqueting Hall, one of the most stunning rooms in the country. It has hosted guests, including Queen Elizabeath I and Queen Elizabeth II. What's more, you'll be dining in the same fireside as Prime Ministers, artists, authors, philosophers, and explorers. Close to London, and yet nestled in the rolling hills of the English countryside, this picturesque mansion is an exquisite location for a wedding - whether you have 30 guests of 375,000, as Robbie Williams did.

Wedding ceremonies may be held in the Tithe Barns, Cobbold and Lytton Barns, Garden Gazebo within Knebworth House Gardens and Knebworth House itself. The gardens at Knebworth house date back to the 1600’s, with the present design landscaped in the Victorian and Edwardian times. Cobbold and Lytton Barns can accommodate up to 300 guests with a private entrance, patio area, private bar facility and access to the beautiful formal gardens of Knebworth House that provide the stunning backdrop to your wedding photographs.

If an award could be given for the most history-rich venue, Chilston Park Hotel would win an Oscar. Thanks to its authentic 17th century fireplaces, family portraits of viscounts and earls, not to mention the four-posters. Chilston Park also offers remote rural settings, with the lake providing a fabulous backdrop for the wedding album.

Select from five different spaces for a ceremony, holding anything from 30 up to 90. Wedding breakfasts for up to 100, evening receptions up to 150. Room hire ranges from £200 to £1000.



Clearwell Castle, Gloucestershire

This is where a fairytale comes true. Set in the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire, Clearwell Castle has what they call the “wow” factor. Complete with battlements and even the original portcullis, straight from a little one’s storybook, this premiere wedding venue provides the perfect fairytale setting for your big day. As for the inside, that’s equally impressive because you can hold a civil ceremony in a ballroom that has a 70-foot aisle together with inspiring leaded windows to let the sunlight flood in.

160 people can sit down to the wedding breakfast in the ballroom, or have up to 250 partygoers in the vaulted cellar. Exclusive use includes 15 luxury suites for the night.

Located in Staffordshire, this breathtaking Grade II listed family home is set in fifty acres of rural countryside. It comprises of the West Barn, The East Barn and The Old Dairy alongside spectacular grounds and more. The unique and individual photograph opportunities are aplenty around the property, providing the ultimate setting for any wedding. Benefiting from formal lawns, gardens and ponds and secret paths through the wildflower meadow down to the wildlife lower lake.

The venue caters for all sizes of weddings, from intimate gatherings for say 30 to 40 guests to formal sit-down meals for friends and family up to 150 guests.



The Inn at Whitewell, Lancashire

A quintessential country bolthole where once Her Majesty the Queen also arrived. The Inn at Whitewell in Lancashire sits just above the river Hodder. Inside this quirky boutique hotel are flickering fireplaces, hunting pictures, beams, sofas, maps, copies of Wisden and even cricket balls attached to the room keys. Doors in the bar lead onto a terrace where guests can enjoy five-mile views across parkland to rising fells. Small weddings can be held in the main house with the majority of celebrations being held in the marquee overlooking the river.
